As with the opp. 41 and 42 arrangements, it is not clear whether Beethoven himself arranged opp. 63 and 64. At least in the case of opp. 41 and 42 he could assure his publisher that he had seen the results. But it is not certain that he was involved at all in the arrangements of the String Quintet op. 4 (for op. 63) or the String Trio op. 3 (for op. 64). (J.R.)
