Nice to know
After the death of his brother Joseph von Breuning, a court counsellor, in 1777, Kanonikus Johann Lorenz von Neuß relocated to Bonn to care for his brother's family. He supported his sister-in-law, Helene, in raising her four children and obviously met Ludwig van Beethoven who was a regular guest in Helene's house from the 1780s onwards. For Beethoven, the respectable, wealthy and educated Breuning family always represented care and friendship, enriching the young musician in a spiritual and human way.(S.B.)
