Nice to know
Beethoven asks his friend the piano maker Streicher whether he can borrow one of his pianos again when he returns to Vienna in October (Beethoven usually left the city during the summer). He is no longer happy with the French one (probably the Erard grand piano of 1803). He asks Streicher's advice as to how he can best sell this instrument. Beethoven asks him to reply by the end of September.
In a postscript Beethoven orders new strings for Archduke Rudolph. He asks whether Streicher can let him have some, but that they must be "Kürnberger".
