Nice to know

Beethoven sends his friend Bernard a document, probably the petition for an exit permit for his nephew Karl, whom Beethoven wished to send to a boarding school in Landshut. Beethoven asks Bernard to look through the notes he has added and then to have a copy made. He wants to send the petition via Archduke Rudolph to the appropriate person, Archduke Ludwig. He ends the letter - as is often the case - with a slightly suggestive play on words, adding that he will continue to put in a good word for him so that he will be given the post as Archduke Rudolph's librarian.
