Nice to know

Beethoven thanks Varena for his present and hopes that he is well again. He promises to organize a possible piano for Varena's daughter some time soon. Around six weeks later Beethoven informs him of the results of his enquiries concerning a piano (HCB BBr 65).

He refers to an enclosed letter (no longer surviving) from his sick brother Kaspar Karl, who longs for "animals" (according to the BGA he is probably referring to the peacocks mentioned in his will). Beethoven asks Varena whether he can come by such animals without too much trouble.
