Nice to know
Beethoven sends his friend Gleichenstein a sonata (we do not know for certain which one) for Therese Malfatti, asking him to pass it on to her. He thanks Gleichenstein for introducing him to the Malfatti family. His expression of affection is touching, "send them my greetings, I feel very comfortable with them. It is as if the wounds which bad people have inflicted on me can be made whole again by them."
In addition he sends Gleichenstein 50 florins so that he can buy him scarves (shortly before this he had sent his friend money so that he could buy him shirts and scarves from a tailor). Finally Beethoven tells him about a pleasant evening he spent with their mutual acquaintance "gigoud" (according to the BGA possibly Mathias Gigot).
