Nice to know
The Redoute was the only important building which the Archduke Max Franz had built in Bonn. Shortly after it was completed at the beginning of July 1792 the so-called "Godesberg Breakfast" was held. At this reception organized by the Bonn court musicians for Joseph Haydn, who was on his way back to Vienna after a visit to England, the twenty-one year old Beethoven met the famous composer in person. He took this opportunity to show Haydn a cantata he had composed. Haydn looked at the composition and praised it. (S.B.)
