Nice to know
Beethoven asks his brother Johann to let him have a few works (opp. 122 and 124) once again so that he can look through them or have them copied. He assures him that he can have them back in a few days.
Beethoven had given both these works as well as the Opferlied op. 121b, the Arietta op. 128 and the Bagatelles op. 126 to his brother in return for a loan. He confirms that the works can be given to the publisher Leidesdorf once he has corrected them. Johann not only offered the works to Leidesdorf but also to Probst and Schott. They were published by the latter in 1825.
