Nice to know
Beethoven asks his brother Nikolaus Johann for various favours regarding his forthcoming move. He is afraid of inconveniencing his brother and hopes that he will soon be able to show him his gratitude.
Ludwig asks Johann to collect their nephew Karl's shoes and a chamber pot from a little room in his apartment at Blöchlinger's school (Karl was a boarder there, Beethoven had apparently also stayed there for a short while). He also explains how the legs have to be unscrewed from his piano and how it should be transported (it was a Broadwood Grand, which had been given to him in 1818).
Finally Beethoven asks his brother to already come on Sunday as he would like to have moved by Monday.
