Zusammenfassung
Beethoven writes to his publisher Simrock regarding the Mass op. 123. This time it is about payment. Beethoven accepts Simrock's offer of 100 pistoles instead of 100 louis d'or, although this means he will suffer a loss. He promises to immediately send the mass to Brentano in Frankfurt, who will then send it on to Bonn. Beethoven adds that the translation of the text of the mass is an additional cost. He hopes that at least this sum will be reimbursed by Simrock. Beethoven once again mentions the complete edition of his works which is very important to him. He ends the letter with greetings to the Wegeler family.
At the beginning of the letter Beethoven complains that he has not been able to enjoy his summer stay in the country. Archduke Rudolph was in Vienna and so he had to go into the city two to three times a week to teach him. It was only in October that he found the time to relax.
