Zusammenfassung
Beethoven asks Archduke Rudolph's personal secretary and librarian, Ignaz von Baumeister, to lend him the overture to op. 117 so that he can have it copied. Beethoven had received a request for a benefit concert in Graz and wanted to send a copy of the score. He promises Baumeister, that he will send back the music immediately after it has been copied.
