Zusammenfassung
In the surviving extract from Stephan von Breuning's letter to his mother, he tells her what he has already written to Wegeler (W 126): he has taken a 66-year-old cook into his employ and now Beethoven eats with him every day. Then he describes what he does when Beethoven is not there (fragments). It is interesting inasmuch as Breuning writes when Beethoven is not there, "as was the case this summer and probably will soon be the case again as he is to journey to Italy". We do not know that the composer planned to visit Italy in autumn/winter 1804; Beethoven never undertook such a journey.
