Zusammenfassung
Carlo Boldrini was a partner in the Viennese publishing house Artaria. Beethoven drafts a petition for Boldrini to Archduke Rudolph, asking to be allowed to publish one of the latter's compositions. In autumn both of the publishers Artaria and Steiner applied to publish Archduke Rudolph's 40 Variations on Beethoven's theme "O Hoffnung" ("Oh Hope"). In the end it was Steiner who received permission to do so.
