Nice to know
Beethoven asks Ries to send him the wind parts as soon as possible. He also asks his pupil to check the violin parts as the rehearsal will take place immediately. The parts are probably those for Beethoven's Oratorio "Christus am Ölberge" ("Christ on the Mount of Olives") op. 85 which was first performed at the beginning of April 1803. According to several sources Beethoven had not had much time to compose the work.
