Nice to know

Beethoven informs his friend Nannette Streicher that his kitchen maid "Baberl" is going to leave him on Monday morning, so that her successor, whom Nannette Streicher has organized, can begin from Monday afternoon. He complains about his bad luck with employees whom he cannot trust and whose impudence he must continually put up with.

Beethoven says that his nephew Karl and his new teacher will probably always dine with him at lunchtime. He is very happy with the new teacher and asks Frau Streicher not to mention any of this to his former teacher Giannattasio del Rio (Beethoven had removed Karl from Giannattasio's boarding school at the end of January so that he could be taught privately).
