Nice to know
After visiting the Beethoven-Haus the composer and conductor Hans Pfitzner writes the following: he expresses thanks for the guided tour (by Joseph Schmidt-Görg) and announces that he has sent the desired picture.
However he mainly adds several remarks concerning the final movement of the Ninth Symphony, in which he considers a passage to be "highly questionable". He believes he has found proof for the supposition that "a whole page of music is missing" in a manuscript which he was able to look at in the Beethoven-Haus. The passage has been corrected several times and bears the note "ausgelaß" ("omitted"). Pfitzer suggests clarifying this issue with the help of Beethoven's letters to his publisher Schott.
