Nice to know
Beethoven asks Karl Holz to take his place at a meeting with the tax office regarding his overdue class tax. Beethoven has prepared a letter for the authorities which Holz can take with him and asks him to come by briefly before the appointment.
When he was completely deaf, Beethoven often asked good friends to run errands for him as he shied from contact with the outside world on account of the difficulties he experienced making himself understood.
