The young Beethoven was a frequent guest at the von Breuning family's home in bonn. The friendship to the family was of a high importance for the composer's personal development. Stephan von Breuning, the second oldest son, belonged to Beethovens's closest and most reliable friends in Vienna. Daughter Eleonore received piano lessons from Beethoven. Even Stephan von Breuning's son Gerhard said he had a "warm and everlasting friendship" with Beethoven.
