Between 1540 and 1850 violinist, music teacher and composer Carl Friedrich August Hering (1819-1889) collected more than 40 dedications of his teachers and music peers in his register. Felix von Lichnowsky (1814-1848), a direct descendant of the Lichnowsky brothers Karl and Moritz, who were close friends of Beethoven, gave Hering a curl from Beethoven. The album also contains another relic: dried flowers from Beethoven's and Schubert's grave. (FG)
