Nice to know
Beethoven asks for proofs of the Variations opp. 34 and 35. In addition he gives instructions for the dedications of both works. Te Variations op. 35 are now to be dedicated to Count Moritz Lichnowsky instead of Abbé Stadler, as Beethoven owes the former a favour. This dedication is so important to him that he offers to pay the costs of having the title page reprinted, should this be necessary. He confirms that op. 34 should be dedicated to Princess Odesalchi.
Shortly before this Beethoven had asked for the works of J. S. Bach to be sent to him, as they were published by Breitkopf & Härtel. He expresses thanks for their delivery and asks to be sent any further volumes published.
