Beethoven complains to his publisher about the original edition of the Septet op. 20. Kühnel had gathered the movements 1-4 and 4-6 into two "parts".

Although this had been discussed with him, Beethoven was not happy with these two parts, "the 7tet in 2 parts, this does not please me, why?". He asks for a dedication copy for the Empress Maria Theresia on "finer paper".

Finally Beethoven asks for news from Leipzig and says that he is in the country and is lazy, so that afterwards he will be "even more active".
