"An Henrietten", song for voice and piano Unv 21

Fragment. Hölty's An Henrietten was published in his collected poems Sämtlich hinterlaßne Gedichte (Halle, 1782). It comprises two stanzas with a total of six lines of verse: 'Dearest Henriette, / Gracious brunette! / Do you have love for me? // Brighten my spirit, / Calm my blood / - Maiden, - love me!' Beethoven sketched an extensive piano part with the complete text beneath it but left the work incomplete. (F.G.)
