Beethoven's Lied "Ruf vom Berge" ("Call from the mountain") WoO 147 with a text by Friedrich Treitschke appeared in 1817 as musical supplement no. 3 in a volume of Treitschke's poetry. However it contained a great many mistakes. In a joking manner Beethoven asks Treitschke to give the autograph score of the Lied to the publisher Steiner, "so that the engraving ("Gestochene"), which has been buried ("zerstochen") in mistakes can be engraved ("gestochen") again immediately if necessary".
