Beethoven asks Moscheles to return the material for the parts which he had lent him (probably the material for the overtures from op. 117 and op. 124 as well as for op. 115).
In autumn 1823 the pianist, composer and conductor Ignaz Moscheles spent three months in Vienna during one of his numerous concert tours around Europe. He performed Beethoven's Overture op. 115 in two academies in December 1823.
