Ludwig van Beethoven, Brief an Breitkopf & Härtel in Leipzig, Wien, 12. April 1811, Abschrift

Beethoven-Haus Bonn, Sammlung H. C. Bodmer, HCB Br 323

Nice to know

Beethoven recommends his friend Oliva to the publishing house and confirms his power of authority to negotiate on his behalf concerning the new Trio op. 97. He bitterly complains about the financial situation in Austria - only a Deus ex machina would be able to alleviate the desolate conditions.

Beethoven writes that opp. 82 and 83 are to be dedicated to Princess Kinsky, as far as op. 81a is concerned the only person under consideration is Archduke Rudolph.
