Nice to know

Following the resounding success of Wellingtons Sieg (Wellington's Victory) op. 91, Beethoven was advised to dedicate the work to the English Prince Regent. Soo Beethoven sent a score to England, asking whether he might dedicate the printed edition to the Prince Regent. Although he had not received an answer up till then, he learnt through reports that the work was very well received in England. Soon he learnt of a non-authorized piano reduction which had already been published in England (this information was, however, incorrect).

Beethoven turns to Count Rasumowsky in this letter, asking him to act as a go-between in this matter so that part of the expenses he has incurred might be reimbursed.
