Nice to know
In March 1809 Beethoven had signed a pension agreement with Princes Kinsky and Lobkowitz and Archduke Rudolph to provide him with a regular income paid by them. When Kinsky died in 1812 his family wanted to terminate the payments. Beethoven sued the family and won the entitlement to further receive annual payments of 1,200 florins to be paid every six months. Next to Beethoven's signature the receipt also bears a notarised certification. (J.R.)
