Florestan's aria
This manuscript is a copy of the introduction to the second act with Florestan's aria "Gott, welch Dunkel hier" ("Oh God, how dark it is!"). It is from the version of Fidelio from 1814. One of Beethoven's main copyists, Wenzel Rampl, made such a good and fair copy that the composer did not have much to correct - merely a few changes which mostly have to do with dynamic markings.
