Beethoven asks Rupprecht to finish the translation of the texts for the Scottish Songs soon (it is not quite sure which songs he means; probably a selection from the Irish Songs WoO 152-154). He is also prepared to undertake changes to the music should Rupprecht want this. He has also altered the order of the Lieder from the English original, "to avoid monotony".
