Nice to know

Painter August von Kloeber remembers the meeting with Beethoven in Mödling in 1818. In order to paint a portrait, he met the composer several times and observed him on walks. Kloeber describes Beethoven's appearance and witnessed him using special tools to ease his deafness. According to the painter, Beethoven was able to give piano lessons and visit the opera despite his illness.
