Nice to know
Beethoven refers to a letter to Simrock which he thinks has got lost (surviving as a copy, HCB Br 324) and briefly outlines its contents: He offers him Variations from op. 107 and the Scottish Songs op. 108 for 70 and 50 gold ducats respectively, as well as the Mass op. 123 for 125 louis d'or. He is also still waiting for a suggestion for the complete edition of his works. He asks Simrock to send the answer to Frankfurt (he probably means to Antonie and Franz Brentano, with whom Beethoven was friends and who often acted as intermediaries), as the mail is very uncertain at the time.
