Beethoven asks the pianist Czerny to play two movements from the Piano Concerto op. 73 in the coming academy. Beethoven wanted them performed as a replacement for parts of the Missa solemnis because he had not been happy with the choir in the first academy. However, Czrny declined as he did not think he was well-enough prepared.
