Caroline van Beethoven, Brief an einen unbekannten Adressaten, Passau, 27. Januar 1878

The widow of Beethoven's nephew Karl, Caroline van Beethoven, has learnt from the press that Beethoven's grave is to be removed from the Vienna Central Cemetary. As "one of the influential persons in this matter" she is asking for this not to be done as it "would be quite inconvenient". (J.R.)
