Beethoven thanks Piringer for his readiness to correct a copy of op. 123. He asks for news when the correction will be finished so that he can have it collected.
In addition Beethoven asks Piringer to apologize to Joseph Böhm on his behalf. He had not been able to give Böhm the quartet (op. 127) again for another performance as Joseph Mayseder had returned the music too late. (Böhm had performed the quartet in public, Mayseder in a private concert.) Beethoven closes the letter with a description of his bad state of health.
