Gerhard von Breuning, Brief an Anton Schindler in Bockenheim, Wien, 5. Juli 1859, Autograph

Beethoven-Haus Bonn, BH 213, 43

It seems that Schindler had asked Breuning about details from Beethoven's biography, in particular information about the open bills to Prince Galitzin, who had not paid Beethoven while the composer was still alive (the outstanding payments were finally made by his son).
