Nice to know
Johann van Beethoven, who occasionally dealt with business matters for his brother, asks the publisher Artaria to inform his colleague Pacini in Paris that the works WoO 28 and op. 119,1-6 will only be sent to him once there is a definite commitment for their publication in England. In the future Beethoven will only sell his works simultaneously in three countries. Beethoven intended to publish as many works as possible simultaneously in Vienna for Germany and Austria, in Paris for France, and in London for England and Scotland, in order to maximize his profits.
