Beethoven confirms that the works he offered in his last letter (HCB Br 85, BG 423) are still to be had. In addition he offers the music to Egmont (op. 84) and asks for a total of 1,400 florins in silver currency. In so doing he complies with the publisher's demand that he lower his initial price of 1,450 florins.
He tells of the extreme inflation and the financial problems it has caused him, which have not been improved by Prince Kinsky's bad attitude towards payment (the prince had still not paid his part of the annuity).
In a postscript he adds that the Lied "Kennst Du das Land" in op. 75 is very popular and should soon be published.
