Nice to know
Beethoven sends the piano maker Streicher several letters (no longer surviving), which probably contain criticism of Streicher's instruments. He recommends Streicher to ensure that his instruments do not wear out so quickly. Beethoven apologizes for this criticism, which is also shared by others. He is interested in promoting good instruments and therefore cannot take sides.
He asks for the enclosed letters to be returned and invites Streicher to visit him the following day.
