Beethoven writes to his friend Karl Holz that he should keep one and send the other to Beethoven when he gets the chance, as Beethoven cannot have it collected (according to the BGA this possibly refers to the proofs for op. 116). Beethoven asks him to hurry as far as the investigation is concerned (he is probably referring to the secret surveillance of his nephew Karl), he is also prepared to pay for it.
Beethoven adds that he has had another bad abdominal attack. He wishes to see Holz at midday.
