Beethoven sends his publisher in Paris a list of mistakes for the edition of op. 111. In addition he tells him that the publisher Leidesdorf has published a reprint that can hardly be distinguished from the real thing. Even Diabelli in Vienna is already preparing a pirate edition. Diabelli's edition had, however, probably been made on Beethoven's instigation, or he had at least supported it (see HCB Br 115, BGA 1661).
