Nice to know
Beethoven asks his publisher Diabelli to be patient concerning delivery of the Variations op. 120. Beethoven had apparently just moved, which meant that he was delayed in sending the work. He sets down a maximum payment of 40 ducats for all the variations planned. Should there be less contrary to expectations, he will reduce the sum accordingly.
Apart from the Overture op. 124 he would like Diabelli to publish several numbers from op. 113 as well as WoO 98 and WoO 3 for a total of 90 ducats.
Beethoven asks the publisher to give his housekeeper an answer to this offer. He will send her round the same day.
