Nice to know

Beethoven recommends Herr von Bocklet as a pianist to the cellist Linke for the academy the latter is planning in autumn 1825. He writes that he does not know Bocklet personally but that he has heard a great many good things about him. (According to the BGA Beethoven had known Bocklet since 1817.)

Carl Maria von Bocklet was not only successful as a violinist but also as a concert pianist.

In autumn 1825 Linke gave a concert in which Beethoven's String Quartet op. 132 and the Piano Trio op. 97 were performed. Linke played the cello, Ignaz Schuppanzigh the violin, and Carl Maria von Bocklet was actually engaged as the pianist.
