Nice to know
Beethoven apologizes for arriving too late two days earlier, saying that he had been held up.
He asks Holz to bring the pension form as questions have already been asked about the pension. In May 1817 Beethoven's sister-in-law Johanna had committed herself to giving up half her widow's pension towards her son Karl's upkeep. Although Beethoven had waived this in 1824, the money could still only be drawn by Beethoven using a pension form and then paid out to Johanna.
Beethoven also asks Holz to remember to go to the tailor.
