Ries sends Wegeler more material on Beethoven's life for the biography. He urges Wegeler to soon release the document to prevent Anton Schindler from being the first one who publishes a Beethoven biography. Soon, Ries will perform Beethoven's oratorio "Christ on the mount of olives" and the "Missa solemnis". The letter also contains the "kleine Billetchen von B: Handschrift" (little card written by Beethoven; Beethoven-Haus Bonn, Collection H. C. Bodmer, HCB BBr 44), which Wegeler asked Ries for on behalf of a friend and which he gave him in August 1838 (see comment on Beethoven's letter W 14). (FG)
