Gouache painting

From French "gouache". The art of painting with covering watercolours. Gouache or body colours are made from coloured pigments that feature a surface reflecting incoming light. Even when applied thinly, gouache colours are optically impenetrable and cover existing layers of colour and the surface. Gouache colours contain rubber arabicum or plant glue as binding agents. They brighten up after drying.
