Donations will go to the "Freunde Helfen! - Convoy and the Beethoven House's aid programme "Musicians in Need: Hope for Peace".

22.03.2022

Due to current events, the Young Stars concert originally announced for 29 May with the Austrian pianist Philipp Scheucher, who won the Beethoven-Haus Prize at the International Telekom Beethoven Competition 2021, has been brought forward to 4 April 2022 at 8 pm. On the initiative of the Rotary Club Bonn International, the concert will now be organised by the Beethoven-Haus in cooperation with five Rotarian associations and the International Telekom Beethoven Competition Bonn as a benefit concert to support humanitarian causes in the context of the Ukraine conflict.

Tickets can be purchased for 10 EUR from the Beethoven-Haus shop (shop@beethoven.de / 0228 9817537).

At the same time, the organisers are calling for donations to the Rotarian-supported "Friends Help!" convoy for the benefit of the suffering population in the conflict area as well as for the Beethoven House's aid programme "Musicians in Need: Hope for Peace" to the following account:

Donations are also possible without a concert participation. Donation receipts can be issued upon request.

Dr. Colin Dürkop of the Rotary Club Bonn International is pleased to be able to give a concrete sign of solidarity with the victims of the war and the many suffering families and musicians with this benefit concert.

Michael Kranz, Chairman of the Board of the Beethoven-Haus and member of the Rotary Club Bonn Rheinbrücke explains: "We want to use Beethoven's music to express our hope for reconciliation and peace and to increase our support for refugee musicians here on site with the aid programme "Musicians in Need: Hope for Peace"."

As the organiser of the International Telekom Beethoven Competition Bonn, Deutsche Telekom AG has agreed to support the concert financially and to generously extend the donations.

The Austrian pianist Philipp Scheucher, who won the Beethoven House Prize at the recent International Telekom Beethoven Competition as the audience favourite, is one of the leading musicians of his generation and has already performed on the major stages of Europe and North America. Born in Graz in 1993, he received his pianistic training at the Graz University of the Arts, the Cologne University of Music and Dance and the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. Ludwig van Beethoven has a very special significance for Philipp Scheucher. He feels a very special affinity for his work, says Scheucher.
