Harp concert 'A Handful of Stories'

Vasilisa Zhukova is a virtuoso harpist, poet, researcher and composer who is actively advancing the art of harp music and opening up new musical experiences for people. Vasilisa Zhukova is involved in a wide range of cultural projects and blends classical music with contemporary works, blues and rock. The concert 'A Handful of Stories' marks a major compositional premiere by Vasilisa Zhukova and her first performance in Bonn.

The audience can look forward to a programme featuring her own works, including the award-winning cycle ‘'Pets'’ with the pieces ‘Greif’, ‘Pegasus’, ‘Schlange’ and ‘Phönix’, lyrical and futuristic poetry, as well as music by Rimsky-Korsakov, Deborah Henson-Conant and Led Zeppelin. Vasilisa Zhukova’s music is characterised by expressive melodies, richly coloured soundscapes, humour and narrative imagery. Between the pieces, you’ll hear fascinating stories about the harp, music and her heroes.
