Klavierrecital

Meisterwerke von Chopin, Brahms und Liszt

  • Menachem Har-Zahav, piano

The American pianist Menachem Har-Zahav, who has made Germany his home since 1998, has already given over 1,000 concerts in the USA and Europe, including at the Gasteig in Munich, the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg and the Tonhalle in Düsseldorf. His emotional and sensitive piano playing, his technical brilliance and his artistic maturity provide the ideal foundation for interpreting the Romantic composers. He feels a particular affinity for the music of Chopin, Brahms and Liszt. "The intensity of the emotions these composers have created is so deeply moving. It fills the hall from top to bottom and makes every performance special for me."

After more than 1,000 concerts, he still has something new to say.

The selected classics have been part of his repertoire for many years. Yet they remain as relevant to him as ever. "Interpretations naturally evolve over the years. New nuances emerge; emotions mature. It’s always exciting to take a piece off the shelf and be inspired anew."

  • Frédéric Chopin, Sonate Nr. 2 in b-Moll, op. 35 („Trauermarsch-Sonate“)
  • Johannes Brahms, Sonate Nr. 1 in C-Dur
