Children at the Beethoven-Haus
In the evening, we have the garden and the museum all to ourselves, and brave children aged 7 and over can set off on a journey of discovery in search of shadows and sounds from Beethoven’s time – and Andy Warhol is joining in the fun this time too.

Coincidences, silhouettes, printing techniques, dance steps – a truly colourful and creative afternoon awaits guests of all ages. Naturally, we’ll start by exploring the museum and setting out on a treasure hunt: where has the artist Andy Warhol hidden himself? We’ll also learn a thing or two about Beethoven, of course, and finally we’ll give free rein to our imagination and chance. Every participant, whether young or old, will go home with their very own work of art – guaranteed!

After visiting the exhibition, where we’ll learn all about Beethoven and Warhol, the participants will become artists themselves. Using various printing techniques, foam rubber, scissors and bright colours, each child will create their own work of art in the style of Warhol – which they can, of course, take home with them afterwards!

Whilst Beethoven was glad that he no longer had to wear a wig in Vienna, Warhol enjoyed experimenting with wigs, sunglasses and other items. After visiting the exhibition, where we learn a great deal about Beethoven and Warhol, the participants become artists in their own right. Equipped with a Polaroid camera, wigs and fun accessories, each child creates their own self-portrait, which is then transferred onto foil and 'embellished' in Warhol's style.
