International Beethoven Masterclass Bonn
Chamber music course with the Belcea Quartet
Every year since 2006, the Beethoven-Haus has organised the International Beethoven Masterclasses in Bonn - initially as masterclasses for conducting, initiated and led by maestro Kurt Masur, and since 2010 as masterclasses for chamber music. Lecturers are internationally renowned artists such as Alfred Brendel, the Artemis Quartet, Tabea Zimmermann, Sir András Schiff, Andreas Staier, the Jean Paul Trio, Steven Isserlis, Daniel Müller-Schott and Christoph Prégardien.
This year, the Beethoven-Haus is inviting young string quartet ensembles to a masterclass for the third time. The instructors are the members of the Belcea Quartet, one of the most renowned string quartets internationally, which has already performed in the Chamber Music Hall on several occasions. The masterclass is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. The masterclass will focus on Beethoven's string quartet compositions
The public lessons with the members of the Belcea Quartet will take place in the mornings and afternoons, sometimes in front of an audience in the chamber music hall of the Beethoven-Haus. They will also be streamed live on the internet. The course will end with a final concert by the participants.
